YouTube will be hosting an 18 hour live stream of unboxings of Star Wars toys. So if you love toy unboxing videos, you are about to get a real treat.
Product and toy unboxing videos have been all the rage for a while now, but there has never been such a massive event focused soley on people buying and unboxing toys. The event will take place on Thursday, September 3rd 2015. It will cover the unveilings of the new Star Wars toys in 15 cities in 12 countries around the world.
If you can’t wait, here is the toy catalogue for the new Star Wars action figures. The live stream will go on for at least 18 hours non-stop. It will be hosted by the Star Wars official YouTube channel, ToyNews reports. The big unveiling will also feature digital stars from the Maker Studios network and will kick off in Sydney, Australia, continuing through Asia, Europe, Canada and North and South America.
“Star Wars toys have always played an important role in how our fans interact with the sage. They’ve inspired multiple generations to relive the experience of the movies and to create new adventures all their own. These spectacular Star Wars: The Force Awakens products will continue that tradition,” says Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy.
The stream will also highlight some of the most special toys and action figures that are expected to be in the highest demand. “Over the course of 18 hours, some of Maker Studios’ biggest stars will each be unboxing a new toy from Star Wars: The Force Awakens in a different city around the world and sharing the experience live on YouTube. We can’t wait to see the global reaction from the Star Wars fan community”, says Leslie Ferraro, president of Disney Consumer Products.
So, if you are a Star Wars fan and a toy fan (since you are reading this, you most likely are one), then take a day or two off next week to be ready for the big stream.
