This happened in Titusville, Florida. The boy, named only as Mason, was with his parents at the restaurant, InsideEdition reports.
Naturally, the claw machine there caught his eye. He liked a stuffed animal in there so much, he decided to get it no matter what. “Well today was no exception,” the Titusville Fire and Emergency Services Department’s post continued. “This evening little Mason was enjoying some food and decided he wanted a stuffed animal. He wanted it so bad, he climbed into the game to get that toy!!”
Before he realized, he crawled into the machine and found out he can’t get out. “Thankfully he was never in any distress as one of our own Lt.’s happen to be there off duty and assessed the situation,” the post continued. “Engine 10 led by Lt. Abernathy, made short work of the situation. Driver Operator Lane and Firefighter George were able to get Mason out in short order with minimal damage to the game. We love a happy ending and are glad everything worked out. Mom, Mason and friends went back to eating dinner.”
Well, Mason had a bit of a moment. “He went from thinking, ‘I’m going to get this toy’ to ‘Uh oh I’m stuck in here,’ to ‘Now all these people are looking at me and banging on this thing’,” public information officer Greg Sutton told InsideEdition.
Still, all went and ended well. In the end Mason even got to keep the stuffed animal he wanted so much. But he had to promise he wouldn’t ever, ever again crawl inside a claw machine. So, it’s a lesson well learned, hopefully.
