The Hatchimals have landed in some hot water lately. Apart from being accused they swear, some of them don’t hatch and leave their owners wondering.
A few reports from the past week or so claim brand new Hatchimals never hatch. That’s despite working and producing sound and lights.
This would be a huge blow to anyone who has waited for their Hatchimal for so long. There are a few things you can do if this happens to you.
“While the vast majority of children have had a magical experience with Hatchimals, we have also heard from consumers who have encountered challenges. We are 100 percent committed to bringing the magic of Hatchimals to all of our consumers”, Spin Master wrote on Facebook.
Despite looking very cute and simple, each Hatchimal is actually quite a complex toy. It has a lot of electronics which sometimes malfunction. Also, Hatchimals from the early stages of production do hatch slower. The newer ones should work faster since they are updated a bit.
The company also said this: “Dear Customers, We are sorry to hear that some of you are having challenges with your Hatchimals. The first step to note is that the plastic ‘locks’ located underneath the egg need to be turned 90 degrees and pulled out from underneath to activate the hatching process. You can see how to properly pull them out at the 0:45 mark here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7Mm_LM41e8”
Still, you may have a defective toy. If this happens you should check Spin Master’s return policy or contact the store you bought it from for exchange. It may be a bit of a hassle and you may have to wait for a new batch of toys to arrive. But the good thing is, eventually you will have a working stuffed animal which will excite you a lot.
