The latest Scooby-Doo movie – Scoob! will skip the cinemas and will head straight to an online digital release. The reason – the global outbreak.
Currently, cinemas are closed in many countries around the world. And Scoob! was supposed to premiere on May 15th in the US and Canada.
Scoob is the first full CGI-feature for Scooby-Doo. It aims to reboot the franchise after the live-action movies years ago and give it a new life.
“While we’re all eager to be able to once again show our films in theaters, we’re navigating new, unprecedented times which call for creative thinking and adaptability in how we distribute our content,” says Warner Bros. Chair and CEO Ann Sarnoff to the ToyBook. “We know fans are eager to see Scoob! and we’re delighted we can deliver this feel-good movie for families to enjoy while they’re home together.”
Scoob! will be available as a 48-hour rental priced at $19.99, the same MSRP carried by Trolls World Tour. A big difference in this release is that it will also be available to own for just $5 more.
And that’s not all. There are also Scoob!-related toys coming along. Some of them are action figures of the gang along with the Mystery Machine and more. Also coming to the shops are plush toys, mystery figures and a lot more.
