The Clangers series was rebooted last year on CBeebies. It was well received by the young audience. So, this spring, the stores in the United Kingdom and Ireland will see the return of the popular characters in new stuffed animals forms, Toy News reports.
The toys are developed and will be made by the maker of the Beanie Babies Ty Warner. It will also handle the expected increased interest when the Clangers start airing in the US which is set to happen later this year.
“We are immensely proud to partner with Coolabi on this already hugely successful property on CBeebies, with Michael Palin as the UK narrator. As an American company, we are also hugely excited by the launch of the program in the US, with the equally inspired choice of William Shatner as US narrator”, saus Steve Gomez, development director of Ty UK.
He adds that Ty had prepared a whole new product range for the Clangers which will debut in 2016. While he doesn’t specifically say it, we can expect Clangers Beabie Babies along the toys.
“Ty’s reputation and experience speaks for itself so we are delighted to announce them as our partner. 2015 was an incredible year for Clangers. At launch it was the best performing children’s program for the first half of the year and in its current Bedtime hour slot, it regularly outperforms the slot average share”, says Valerie Fry, director of licensing at Coolabi.
