Toys R Us starts sending farewell notes to clients as it enters its final days

Toys R Us starts sending farewell notes to clients as it enters its final daysToys R Us is entering its final days. More and more stores are closing down having sold their stock. Now Toys R Us is also sending farewell notes to clients.

You could wonder why Toys R Us is sending these farewell notes. After all it’s a company where now every penny counts.

Yet, sending notes is an expense. It’s a good marketing move, but it’s also an expense for a company which is closing down because it doesn’t have enough money.

But, maybe, sometimes it isn’t only about the money. Toys R Us was part of the childhood of millions of people. Toys R Us was more than a store for many people. It holds fond memories for them. And the company certainly created lots of close relationships with many of these people.

But now is going out of business. So, it makes sense that it’s saying its goodbyes with its biggest fans with a personal touch.

WWE Superstar Zack Ryder also got such a note. He shared it online:

“Thanks to each of you who shared your amazing journey to (and through) parenthood with us, and to every grandparent aunt, uncle, brother and sister who’s built a couch-cushion rocket ship, made up a hero adventure, or invented something gooey. Promise us just this one thing: Don’t ever grow up. Play on!”, the message reads. “Don’t worry @toysrus… I won’t ever grow up,” Ryder captioned the post.

Of Toys ‘R’ Us’ impending end, CEO Dave Brandon said the move comes “as a profoundly sad day for us as well as the millions of kids and families who we have served for the past 70 years.”, Comicbook.com reported.
