A couple of weeks ago Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy in the US and Canada. The popular toy store chain now vows to make a comeback and be better than ever.
Now Toys R Us is saying it’s planning to resurrect its business in the US and Canada, PowerRetail reports. And the company has a big strategy in place on how to do it.
We’ve seen parts of it already come into place. Last week Toys R Us announced it will add play areas to some stores. There kids will be able to play with selected toys and employees will help them get to know the toys and see if they want them.
But that’s only part of the whole strategy. Toys R Us is saying it’s planning to renovate and modernize the stores. This includes new layouts, updated lighting and new areas. The goal is ambitious: To bring it to the next era of retail shopping.
Toys R Us is also planning “various initiatives” to improve the image of the brand, to better promote the products and update and improve its e-commerce platforms. This should make the toy store chain better at online sales, too.
The good news is that there’s no mention of stores closing down. Of course, plans can always change, but for now, it seems Toys R Us is focusing on revamps.
