The Toys R Us comeback is almost official. This week the refreshed company will open its first new store. It’s in New Jersey and will have a lot to offer.
The store will open on Saturday, November 30 at the Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus, Newsweek reported. The new store has a treehouse and houses several activity areas and lots of toys over a 6000 square foot space.
Fans can choose toys from big brands like Nerf, LOL Surprise, Barbie, Nintendo, LEGO and more. There are also classics like the Steiff stuffed animals.
A day later, on December 1st, Toys R Us will open its second store. It’s going to be at The Galleria, a Simon mall, in Houston, Texas. And that’s not all. The renewed company plans to open around 10 more stores during the next year. One of them will be the new flagship New York store.
All of the stores will be smaller than before. They will be at around 6000-6500 square feet. New technologies will pattern the customer traffic and will create ideas for how to improve the stores more.
“Our U.S. strategy is to bring back the Toys ‘R’ Us brand in a modern way through a strong experiential and content-rich omnichannel concept. The foundation of that strategy requires the help of a retail industry leader and Target is the ideal retailer to support a new Toys ‘R’ Us shopping experience, which is designed to provide families with endless ways to discover, play and enjoy toys”, Richard Barry, CEO of Tru Kids, said in a statement.
