Today is Force Friday II - here's what to know to make it a great weekendToday is the start of the second Force Friday event. It’s the weekend where the newest crop of Star Wars toys will make its way to the fans.

If you like toys and Star Wars, this is one of your favorite days throughout the year. Starting from 12:01 AM on Sept. 1st until the end of Sunday, Sept. 3rd, tens of thousands of stores in 30 countries will be all about Star Wars.

“Toys play a unique role in the Star Wars universe, and we’re proud to have been part of that incredible legacy for the past 40 years. The new line for The Last Jedi is our most innovative yet, and we’re excited to unveil it on Force Friday II,” says Samantha Lomow, senior vice president at Hasbro as part of the Force Friday 2 reveal post on StarWars.com.

During the events you will be able to see, try and buy countless of Star Wars toys, stuffed animals, books, comics, costumes, accessories, gadgets. You name it, there’s probably a Star Wars-themed version of it.

There’s also a special AR app and experience in many of the stores. “This Force Friday II weekend, we’re inviting fans and families to join the Resistance and help ‘Find the Force’ in our global augmented reality treasure hunt taking place across more than 20,000 retail locations. We’re kicking the event off with an extra AR surprise for anyone near 20 of the world’s most iconic destinations. Just open the Star Wars App – and look up!,” says Paul Southern, Senior Vice President, Global Licensing at Lucasfilm. There are also QR codes at retailers who don’t have the AR experiences. Scan these codes and you will again see these activities on your phone.

Many retailers will also have their own Star Wars activities. So, you might want to plan a visit to a few of your local toy shops to check them out. Make a plan of what you can to see, buy and visit. This way you will have a more organized experience. Otherwise you risk missing out on things in the chaos. Most of all, have fun!
