As any new year, 2019 also starts with a lot of optimism about the future. That also goes for the toy industry which hopes to turn things around.
It wants to put an end to the tough times and declines in sales and revenue. 2019 will definitely be the year to do so.
On one hand it’s a year filled with big movies. There are going to be so many blockbusters out there, that movie-related toys are going to dominate.
Just from the top of the head you can expect toys about: Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Toy Story 4, Frozen 2, The Lion King, The LEGO Movie 2 and Star Wars IX. 2019 is definitely going to be quite big for movie toys.
But then, there are also electronic toys, robots, interactive toys and so on. They are also going to enjoy a lot of attention and will continue to get smarter and offer more features.
2019 is going to offer us a lot of variety. Maybe even too much. All of this can overwhelm toy fans and their wallets. So, there’s a risk of too much toys being truly too much. In any way, it’s definitely going to be a dynamic and very interesting year, so stay tuned!
