Fans of comic books, Sci-Fi, video games and toys will have a busy weekend. This week is the 2nd annual Bangor Comic and Toy Convention. Get ready!
The Bangor Comic and Toy Convention will be held at the Cross Insurance Center and will be attended by some celebrities as well, the WCSH 6 reports. Organizers are aiming for about five thousand fans to attend the event.
Last year it was four thousand people and quite a lot of them were dressed as their favorite characters. The convention will have a little bit of something for everyone.
There will be stands and exhibitions from classics like Star Trek and Doctor Who. Some of the stars of the shows will be there to meet fans, too. Vendors will be there too. There will be lots of comics, toys, action figures, stuffed animals, you name it.
Along all of this, there will be a competition for dressing up like your favorite comic book character. Among the special guests will be Kel Mitchell, Mini Me from Austin Powers and many more. There will also be a Kid Con portion of the toy fair which will be dedicated solely to kids.
“The Kids Con portion is going to be spectacular for us to provide that for families. There will be workshops for kids where they get to learn a little bit more about some of the characters that’s going to be there. There will also be face painting and I also believe there is going to be an artist who will do sketches for them as well,” said Soubanh Phanthay, one of the organizers.
The Bangor Comic and Toy Con kicks off Friday night. Kids under the age of 12 can get into the convention for free. For a one day pass, tickets are $25. If you would like to attend the Con on Saturday and Sunday, the weekend pass is $35 or you can pick up a VIP pass for $55.
