Stuffed animals are great companions. They can comfort you in dire situations. That’s why the police always needs them to help children in need.

The police in Edwardsville received some special new teddy bears to do that very same thing. The new “comfort bears” came to the police on Thursday, Times Leader reports.

The comfort bears are specially designer teddy bears just for the Edwardsville police. They are very cute and huggable and wear special T-shirts.

The idea of the comfort bears came from the Edwardsville Hometown Committee. “About 10 of us met and thought it was a good idea. We then reached out to police. They said they had had the program in the past, but not for a long, long time”, says Jackie Moran, president of the committee.

The whole thing became a big project. It got funded by $95 000 from the Local Share Account. Other donations helped save money in energy, gave donations for maintaining football and soccer fields and many more.

The comfort bears will ride in the patrol cars of police officers. They will always be ready to help out children in need. Stuffed animals have a comforting and soothing effect in such situations and help children cope with crime better. It’s just some of the greatness of stuffed animals.
