The Pokemon Company plans 2018 to be a "Lengendary" yearThe Pokemon Company is planning to make 2018 a “Legendary” year for the brand. This will include many new products, cards, toys and promotions. So, if you’re a fan of Pokemon, you will have quite the year ahead of you.

And the “Legendary” year starts of right now. From February to November, Legendary Pokémon, the rarest and most sought-after variety of the creatures, will be featured across the franchise, ToyNews reports.

This includes monthly video game character distributions, new Pokémon Trading Card Game products. It will also have mobile game retail and animation promotions.

“As a thank-you to all the Trainers out there who have been so committed and passionate about Pokémon over the years, we want to make 2018 a legendary year,” said J.C. Smith, senior director of Consumer Marketing for The Pokémon Company International.

“We’re offering fans a chance to access these powerful Legendary Pokémon across the brand while celebrating their role in the franchise’s legacy.”

Fans of the Pokémon TCG will also enjoy a range of Legendary-themed product tie-ins in 2018. There’s going to be new collections, Pokémon-GX cards, and more. The Pokémon Company International will announce details about these new products throughout the year as it gets closer to each item’s retail launch. So, keep your eyes peeled.

And there’s more coming. Pokémon the Movie: The Rise of Darkrai, which features Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia, will be available during February on the Pokemon TV app. The app is available on iOS and Android. Fans will also enjoy associated Pokémon movies air on some Pokémon broadcast partners. This will happen at select times during these months. So, again, keep your eyes peeled.

Meanwhile, gamers have a lot to look forward to as well. Various legendaries will be released to players throughout the year on Pokémon Ultra Sun, Pokémon Ultra Moon, Pokémon Sun, and Pokémon Moon. Mobile games Pokémon Go and Pokémon Shuffle will also receive updates and events. So, Pokemon fans are going to be quite busy.
