The Hershey Bears will attempt to set a World Record Teddy Bear TossThe Hershey Bears hockey team has been quite busy rallying its fans over the past few weeks. The club wants to set a World Record with a teddy bear toss.

This Sunday the Bears will hold their annual teddy bear toss at the Giant Center. They will play against the Binghamton Devils.

The teddy bear toss will work as always. When the Bears score their first goal of the game, fans will start throwing stuffed animals onto the ice. This year the collected plushies will go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Last year, fans donated a total of 25 017 stuffed animals. This year the Bears want to set a new world record. Currently, its held by the Calgary Hitmen whos fans tossed 28 815 stuffed animals in 2015.

To further motivate the fans, CommunityAid will donate 25 cents per each donated stuffed animals. There’s more. If the World Record is set, then that figure will jump to 50 cents per plushie. And there’s even more. A Bears club box member on behalf of the Sweigart Family Foundation will donate $1 for each stuffed animal during the game.

The plushies will also go to kids in need, 30 local organizations, churches, the American Center Society, schools and more.
