The Hershey Bears smash the Teddy Bear Toss record with almost 35000 toysThe Hershey Bears broke the teddy bear toss world record into pieces. The fans of the team came well prepared and threw 34 798 stuffed animals onto the ice.

This way the team and its fans destroyed the previous world record of 28 815 stuffed animals. It was set by the Calgary Hitmen in 2015.

The Bears also smashed their own record of 25 017 plushies collected in 2017. And the achievement brings even more donations with it.

CommunityAid will donate 50 cents per stuffed animal, up to $15,000. Additionally, a club seat holder for the Bears will donate $1 per stuffed animal collected on behalf of the Sweigart Family Foundation.

The team will now sort the stuffed animals and donate them to Milton Hershey School, Children’s Miracle Network, and the American Cancer Society. A total of over 30 local organizations will receive from the bears.

It was definitely quite the spectacle. Even the hockey players joined by carrying out stuffed animals and teddy bears from their locker room. And the night was complete after the Bears won their game against the Binghamton Devils 6-3.
