K9 units often need a lot of funding which is a problem for most police departments. So they usually raise additional money with charity projects. Or by selling cute plush police dogs.
This is exactly what the Aurora Police K9 unit is doing, CBS4 reports. They have 500 cute police dog stuffed animals ready for charitable people.
Each plushie will cost $20. All of the proceeds will go to the savings account of the K9 unit. The money will be used for future K9 partners.
There’s only one snag, though. The Police Department is not able to mail or ship the cute plushies. So, people will have to pick them up in person. The Department will set up a few pick-up locations for that to happen.
There’s also no limit on how many toys you want to purchase. The cute police K9 plushies are quite good. They carry the name Hero.
Each plush police dog has a collar with a police medallion and a special police vest. Hero is a German Shepard puppy and comes with a special tag of the Aurora police, as well.
Here is the official text, which the Aurora Police K9 unit posted on Facebook:
We want to introduce you to our newest furry friend, “Hero”. Hero is our newest fundraising partner. We have 500 of these awesome little buddies. They will be on sale for $20.00 and all the proceeds go into our savings account that purchases future K9 partners.
The only issue is we will NOT be able to mail or ship these out and we will be arranging pickup locations and dates for anyone outside the department. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause but arent able to ship them out at this time.
If you are interested in purchasing one, or ten of these, please send an email to Sgt Samuels at email@example.com. We will get you on the list and will arrange delivery as we go. Thank you for any support, your generosity helps support our unit and future partners!
