The 3rd Teddy Bear Posse in North Dakota is underway. The goal this year is to gather 4000 new stuffed animals for hospitals and emergency responders.
This year Gate City Bank and Midwest Radio Fargo are again the main organizers. They collect new teddy bears and other stuffed animals, KFGO reports.
“We give these things out, these things are used,” said North Dakota Highway Patrol Capt. Bryan Niewind. “We really appreciate the support of the community,” he continued.
Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow says he’s given stuffed animals to kids in traumatic situations such as crashes. He’s come across one of the parents from that event a few years later and they told him their kids still keep the teddy bears.
Drop-off locations include all Gate City Bank locations, KFGO-Midwest Radio Fargo-Moorhead at 1020 25th St. S in Fargo, The North Dakota Autism Center in Fargo, Red Wing Shoes on Main Ave. in Fargo and Deek’s Pizza in West Fargo.
The campaign is going to last up to May 14. Then a final donation event at Gate City Bank in downtown Fargo will close it out and bring the overall total of donated stuffed animals.
