If you are close to Bowling Green this Saturday, you can go to the 19th annual Great Teddy Bear Run. Don’t worry, it’s actually a motorcycle ride, so running is not mandatory. Of course, you can simply watch and donate, too.
Originally, the event was scheduled for last month. Poor weather changed those plans, though, WBKO reports.
So, now The Great Teddy Bear Run is scheduled for May 12th. The organizers expect about 500 motorcyclists to take part in the event. Proceeds go to the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center (BRACAC).
Each of the motorcyclists will carry at least one teddy bear or stuffed animals. “Each motorcyclist brings a teddy bear to the center. Our center (BRACAC) provides services to children who have been victimized by child sexual abuse. So after a medical exam, kiddos are able to come in here and pick out a teddy bear,” says Jennifer Bryant, director.
Registration the day of the event is at 9:00 a.m. at the Warren County Justice Center. At 11:15 a.m. the bikes will leave from the Justice Center and start the route through town which will end at Harley Davidson on Cumberland Trace Road.
The ride will take about one hour. And the Bowling Green Police will govern the traffic to ensure the safety of everyone.
