It’s easy to focus on the big teams in Teddy Bear Toss games. But other teams and their fans also deserve some credit for their efforts.

They too manage to gather thousands of stuffed animals for their local communities. Two of those teams are The Edmonton Oil Kings and the Florida Everblades.

Both teams held their annual teddy bear toss games this weekend. It took a bit of more time to get the final numbers, but they are now official.

The Edmonton Oil Kings fans donated almost 15 000 stuffed animals during the game against the Kamloops Blazer. The toys will go to the local institutions and kids in need.

Also over the weekend, the Florida Everblades had a teddy bear toss game. They hosted the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. This time fans donated a record 8100 stuffed animals during the game.

As a result the grand total of donated stuffed animals in the team’s history now reaches almost 150 000. The bears will be distributed to local children’s charities across Southwest Florida for the holiday season, including the Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Teddy Bear Toss games are continuing this weekend. So, if you’re near one, go and have fun while also helping out the community and kids in need.
