Bedtime stories can be much more fun thanks to new stuffed animals called Storytime Pets. They can tell you stories via a smartphone app.

Storytime pets are small stuffed animals that feature built in electronics and motors. Their mouths move as they tell the story and can be plugged in in a smartphone with Android or iOS (also works with tablets).

You can then download the exclusive app by Storytime pets which features¬†12 stories and 20 sing-a-long tunes. What’s more, the toys are compatible with most read to me apps as well, and you can use them too, to get even more stories.

Currently there are six Storytime pets. Amongst them is a Dragon, a Unicorn, a Monster, a Lamb, and two teddy bears – a boy and a girl. They cost about 39.95 dollars each, although they are now going for $29.95 as part of a special sale.

The app and stories are free. Amongst the stories are Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Snow White, Three Little Pigs and many more all-time classics. The songs feature titles like Happy and You Know It, Humpty Dumpty, Hokey Pokey, Hey Diddle Diddle, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and many others.

The News Station 16 WNEP recently got hold of a few of the Storytime pets stuffied animals and took them to a school to test them and to see how children and their parents will respond to the toys. Check out in the video below:
