The Pokemon frenzy is upping it’s momentum. After Build-A-Bear, now Steiff shows off their special edition Pikachu stuffed animal that is for big fans only.
If you are not familiar with Steiff, this is an old German toy firm that specializes in the production of stuffed animals. It makes high quality toys which are mostly collectors’ items than mere toys.
So when we heard that Steiff is now ready with its own version of the popular Pokemon character Pikachu, we knew it was going to be something. And it is. It is one of the most close to the real Pikachu stuffed animals you could find and it is also made with the highest of Steiff’s standards.
There is only one small problem with that. The price. According to IGN, the price is going to be about $367. But then again it is made from natural mohair. It will also be a limited edition with only 1000 units to be made and sold in Japan.
This means if you want to get one, you should be quick as the preorders have already begun (also on the Japan version of Amazon, too). The stuffed Pikachu will be shipping to collectors in early February 2016. It is one of the yearly limited stuffed animals that Steiff does. Last year it offered a stuffed Godzilla for about $500. So by this account, the Pikachu stuffed animal is a bargain.
