Star Wars is a top topic at Comic-con

The upcoming new movie in the Star Wars franchise is the top topic at the 2015 Comic-con. It’s the theme during the event and everybody are talking about it, Hattiesburg American reports.

Comic-com began on Thursday and ever since then Star Wars is buzzing all over the place. “Everyone loves ‘Star Wars,’ ” said Kristen McLaughlin of Los Angeles. The 23-year-old, wearing a Captain America costume, said she planned to spend Thursday night waiting in line for Lucasfilm’s Friday afternoon presentation on “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

And indeed there was a huge line. Everybody wanted to see another glimpse from the movie. More than 130 000 fans are expected to visit Comic-con and a big portion of them are Star Wars fans. Naturally they couldn’t all go to see the presentation, but it is safe to say, the hall was packed.

People who couldn’t get into the presentation, still had a place to indulge on their Star Wars hunger. The franchise has a huge presence in the showroom with several booths dedicated to the movies and characters. There is also quite a lot of fan stuff to buy, including stuffed animals and soft toys.

“To a certain extent, it’s a giant commercial,” Shane Morrison, 34, of Glendale, California, said of the annual convention. “But we pay hundreds or thousands of dollars to be part of it.”

This doesn’t seem to bother him or any of the other attendees. In fact most of them are too busy loading up on limited edition figurines, exclusive toys and other fan stuff. Some are buying just for the sole purpose of reselling later. Again, Star Wars is the main theme gathering the biggest amount of interest.

Still, it is not all Star Wars. Other interest gatherers include “The Walking Dead,” ”Game of Thrones,” ”Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2.”
