"Sherlock" and "Friends" are getting a Funko Pop figure line

The BBC hit series “Sherlock” will be getting a whole line of Funko Pop vinyl figures. Sherlock himself will have more than one, including with a violin. “Friends” are getting in on the action, too.

The new Funko Pop vinyl figures will be modeled after Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr. John Watson. Quite a few other characters from the series will be getting a figure, too.

The hit TV sitcom “Friends” will also be getting a Funko Pop treatment. Yes, Chandler, Monica, Rachel, Joey, Ross and Phoebe are going to be back at least in the world of toys.

“These figures are better when they’re crazy-looking,” Funko CEO Brian Mariotti told EW. “Everyone on “Friends” is just really good-looking, so we needed to get the details just right. We had to add that extra level of “Friends”-ness. I know, that’s not even a word.”

The figures will have their own accessories, too. Chandler will come with a small chicken, Joey will have a duck, Ross will have a monkey (Marcel), Monica will be dressed as a chef. Rachel will be a waitress and Phoebe will have her trusty guitar.

“It was one of those things where all of us watched the show and knew it very well,” says Funko VP of creative Ben Butcher. “It was just a matter of stepping back and saying: “If you’re not thinking about the show and you’re walking by the shelf, what’s going to make you go, ‘Oh my God, that’s Chandler!’”

Sherlock will have a violin and a suit, but there will also be a version of him in a winter coat with no extra accessories. Other characters from the series are Jim Moriarty, Mycroft Holmes and Irene Adler.

The toys are scheduled to hit the stores from October this year. They are 3.75 inches tall and will cost 10 dollars each.
