The Teddy Bear Toss season is almost here! Yet another hockey team announced when they will have their own event. That’s the Sarnia Sting very soon.

The Sarnia Sting are going to have their 19th annual Teddy Bear Toss on December 4th. That’s going to happen during their home game against the Niagara IceDogs, TheObserver reports.

The game starts at 2:05 pm at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena. Fans of both teams are encouraged to bring stuffed animals with them.

Then The Sarnia Sting score their first goal of the game, the fans will throw all of their stuffed animals onto the ice. The toys will then go to local charities.

Last year the teddy bear toss event brought in 3785 stuffed animals. It was an all-time record for the Sting and brought the total amount of 18 years to over 50 000 stuffies. The stats also say the teddy bear toss brings luck to the Sting. They’ve won six out of the last seven teddy bear toss games.

The collected toys will go to a special selection of local charities. Among them are Sarnia Salvation Army, Pathways Health Centre for Children, the Inn of the Good Shepherd, Sarnia Kinsmen, Local 663, Lambton Crisis Pregnancy Centre. Also Women’s Interval Home of Sarnia-Lambton, Operation Christmas Tree, Harmony for Youth, Victim Services of Sarnia Lambton, Bluewater Health and St. Joseph’s Hospice. They will all receive stuffies to bring smiles to kids in need.
