After the success of the Winnie-the-Pooh and Paddington movies, another popular character is coming to the big screen. It’s Peter Rabbit who’s movie will debut on March 16th along with quite a few new toys.
Penguin Ventures announced several new toy makers which will join the Peter Rabbit train. Many of them will have special licenses to make toys for and from the movie, ToyNews reports.
For example, Rainbow Designs will make a whole range of stuffed animals. You will see Peter Rabbit and his friends come in plush form. The firm will also make other toys, too.
Jumbo Games on the other hand will release a 4-in-1 puzzle box set and a big floor puzzle. Danilo will make cards and calendars. But wait, there’s more. Infinity Brands will make biscuits and sweets. Spearmark on the other hand will release a range of lunchwear.
Redan will produce a magazine whilst Phidal and Puffin, part of Penguin Random House Children’s are both publishing a range of book formats. In short, there’s going to be a lot of Peter Rabbit stuff coming in the next few weeks.
Pengiun Ventures has been quite busy on the fashion space, too. Joules will make a children’s clothing range for the US and UK. TVM Fashion Lab will make daywear and outerwear. TPD Textiles and Akyroyd and Sons will also make nightwear, underwear and swimwear.
Somerbond will be launching a range of nightwear for grown-ups, meanwhile RH Smith & Son Ltd has been confirmed for dress up products. Finally, Galaxy Optical is developing a range of licensed eyewear for opticians.
“The response to the Peter Rabbit movie from licensees has been fabulous,” said Susan Bolsover, licensing and consumer products director at Penguin Venture. “We’re thrilled to have such a high caliber of partners on-board who have really embraced this new adventure for Peter Rabbit.”
Honestly, that’s quite the line-up. It seems Penguin Ventures has a lot of confidence and high expectations for Peter Rabbit. The movie will premiere in March and stars James Corden.
