LEGO is kicking off the new year with new play sets and cartoons. Amongst them are sets with the classic Batman and another with Ford cars.
The classic Batman series is inspired from the original Batman TV series from the 1960s. The LEGO Classic TV Series Batcave will be in the stores this March. It will feature the Wayne Manor, a Bat Phone, Batmobile, Batcopter and even a Batcyle.
The play set is to mark the 50th anniversary of the show’s debut. It features and gives the original Batman and Robin, Adam West and Burt Ward, a LEGO makeover as well as Catwoman, The Joker, The Penguin and The Riddler.
For automotive fans, LEGO and Ford are joining hands for new playsets. One of them is a way to build the Ford Mustang and the other one is the F-150 Raptor. The Ford Mustang kit is 185 pieces and features a time board and a race driver.
The F-150 Raptor kit is 664 pieces and comes with a garage, trailer, a drag racing Christmas tree and a Model A hot rod. The sets are officially licensed by Ford which have helped nailing the looks of the LEGO models.
“The LEGO Group is one of the world’s top toy companies, and is loved by children and adults around the globe. Many of us grew up playing with LEGO, so this is a dream project for all of us, including our engineers”, said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president, The Americas.
“Each LEGO Ford car tells a story and has infinite play possibilities. With these new sets, kids can play out their ultimate car fantasies. They are able to role play and become the LEGO minifigure, stepping into the greatest cars on earth”, Jill Wilfert, vice president of licensing and entertainment, The LEGO Group adds.
In the meantime, Cartoon Network is readying to launch the new LEGO Nexo Knights series. The show will be aired every day starting from February 1st.
