We’re used to Keanu Reeves being in big and serious roles. But he also has a soft spot and loves to show it. And he loves Toy Story, too.
So, when he was approached to have a role in the movie, he was quite happy. In an interview with Collider, Reeves says it was a “really cool” moment for him.
“I have no idea but I got a call which was really cool, out of the blue from the lovely people at Pixar and the creators of this continuation of the story,” Reeves said.
“They pitched the character to me and we spoke and they allowed me to, kind of, riff on it and I’ve done four recording sessions with them so far and it’s been a lot of fun,” he added.
Keanu doesn’t reveal what his character does or who he is. Tim Allen, who voices Buzz Lightyear, first revealed last year that Reeves has a “mystery role” in the movie. We don’t know if it’s a small one, a cameo or someone integral to the plot.
What we do know is that it has Keanu’s approval and a cool stamp. This means it’s going to be quite the role.
