Teddy bears are known to bring a lot of comfort. Now they can also help with healing you by making a teddy bear heating pad and using it to soothe real pain.
The process of making a teddy bear heating pad is quite simple. It involves a bit of surgery on a teddy bear though, so you may want to be careful.
You can also buy a ready-made teddy bear heating pad but we will cover them later. Now lets see how to make one ourselves.
Making a teddy bear heating pad
First of course you need to get a teddy bear. Measure its side.
Then take two pieces of cotton cloth. You can use an old t-shirt or whatever you find. Sew them together along the sides and leave one side open.
Fill the resulted bag with rice, wheat or buckwheat. Fold the end and sew it. This is your actual heating pad.
Now comes the slightly painful bit. You will have to rip the seam on your teddy bear along the side. Then attach a couple of snap buttons so that you will be able to close it back.
Test fit the heating pad into the teddy bear. You may need to take out some of its stuffing or rearrange it.
After you’re done, you can put the heating pad in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Then take it out and put it into the teddy bear. Be careful though as it will be quite hot. Then close the side with the snap buttons and cuddle.
You can also use the technique by cooling a bag off in the freezer for about 30 minutes to an hour. Then you will have a cooling teddy bear which would be ideal for swellings.
There are also some specially made teddy bear heating pads and cooling stuffies that have special scent. Stay tuned for more cover on them soon.
