Hello Kitty is still one of the most famous cats ever (yes, it is a cat for us). So lets check out how to make a stuffed Hello Kitty for you collection of stuffies.

Hello Kitty is a Japanese cartoon character that first appeared in 1974. The official name is Kitty White but it is popular by Hello Kitty. At first it was targeted towards little kids but with time the popularity of Hello Kitty grew so much that today it is a worldwide all-age-groups market.

Having a stuffed Hello Kitty in your collection is a good addition. There are lots of ready-made stuffed Hello Kitty toys, but maybe you like to create. It would be a great idea to make a stuffed Hello Kitty yourself. Here is how to do it.

The original tutorial is by ikatbag. It shows you how to create stuffed animals from pictures. You will need to print, redraw or trace the outlines of the character onto a piece of paper in the size you want it to be.

Cut the paper along the lines. Also cut holes for the nose and eyes. Now take a pice of fabric of your choice. Given that it is Hello Kitty it should be white. Fold it on a double layer with the outside sides facing each other.

Trace the pattern on the fabric and cut it along the lines. Mark the positions of the eyes and nose. If the fabric is thick and the markings are not showing through, you can do it later on the right side of the fabric. Then sew along the sides. You can do it by hand or with a sewing machine. Remember to leave an unstitched bit so that you can turn the fabric inside out.

Add the eyes and nose. You can check here for ideas on how to add eyes to stuffed animals and also more realistic whiskers. Then fill the toy with stuffing through the unsewn part and sew it close. if you have excess fabric after the seams, you can cut it off with a pair of scissors.

With the same technique you can then draw some clothes for your stuffed Hello Kitty. They will be easier to make because you simply need to cut them to size and then sew the two parts together. Then simply dress your stuffed Hello Kitty and introduce it to the rest of your stuffies.
