The epidemic of the Covid-19 coronavirus is worrying a lot of people all over the globe. Parents have a tough task of making sure their kids are safe.

This seems like a challenge, but in reality, it’s not that scary. The Covid-19 virus is relatively easy to eliminate from surfaces. So, if you maintain proper hygiene and clean surface regularly, the risks are lower.

When you have kids with lots of toys, this may seem a bit more difficult. But it’s not, it just need a little bit more time.

“The studies all show that 62% to 71% ethanol, 0.5% hydrogen peroxide, or 0.1% sodium hypochlorite will clear the virus within 1 minute,” Dr. Shuhan He, an emergency doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital, says to DigitalTrends.

“I think its sort of a losing game to try to clean everything around us while this pandemic is occurring, as it’s quite difficult to avoid every surface when you go out,” He said. This means you should go overboard and try and clean everything.

But you CAN and SHOULD clean the toys of your kids. You can wash bedsheets and towels more often, for example. The same goes for stuffed animals. Don’t bring stuffed animals outside for a while or clean them properly after coming back home.

Use disinfectant wipes for plastic or metal toys like action figures, dolls, vehicles and so on. This should be done after outdoor use. Also, wash stuffed animals in accordance to their label. That’s about it. It’s not much more than the usual care, but it just has to be done more often and with more discipline for a while.
