Is it scary going to the doctor? The Hennepin County Medical Center just did a special operation on a Teddy Bear to show that it isn’t. It was part of the Teddy Bear Clinic event which the medical center held on Saturday.
The Teddy Bear Clinic was made to introduce kids to various medical procedures and meet with doctors. Kids brought their teddy bears or other stuffed animals in need of a check-up or healing.
Doctors did examinations, x-ray tests. Specialists were also on site to repair and sew damaged stuffies. There were also demonstrations and teachings of how medicine works, how to eat better, how to keep your teeth in great condition and many more.
Visitors could also take a tour around the medical center and could even check out an ambulance. It is done to help children feel better when they go to the doctor at a later stage. The children even tested out their own medical expertise and helped doctors give stitches and splint broken bones – on their stuffed animals, of course.
