Healthy Beginnings prepares for the 13th annual Adopt-a-Bear campaign

Healthy Beginnings prepares for the 13th annual Adopt-a-Bear campaignMid Oregon Credit Union will hold the 13th annual Adopt-A-Bear campaign to support Healthy Beginnings. It will start next week and the teddy bears are ready.

The whole idea of Adopt-A-Bear is to help fund Healthy Beginnings. It features a colorful teddy bear which drives community awareness.

It started in 2004 as a way for Mid Oregon Credit Union staff and members to adopt teddy bears with donations. The donations go for Healthy Beginnings which provides no cost health and developmental screenings to preschool children in our communities ensuring they are ready to learn when they enter kindergarten.

For the past 23 years, Healthy Beginnings relies on community donations to keep their screenings free for all families who utilize their services. Healthy Beginnings serves nearly 1,000 children and families each year in Bend, Redmond, La Pine, Madras, Prineville, Sisters and Sunriver.
