Headstart International announced it has landed a deal with Sesame Workshop. The company will make a new range of Sesame Street stuffed animals.
The news mainly for Australia and New Zealand. Headstart has a regional toy license for Sesame Street in the region, ToyNews reports.
The company plans to create a whole new range of Sesame Street stuffed animals. While Headstart doesn’t give many details, we expect that the range will see most of Sesame’s beloved character in plush form.
Headstart wants to build a strong presence with major retailers. This means that the new Sesame Street plush toys and stuffed animals would have to be in most stores. Prices are still to be determined.
“We’re proud of our long history in forging partnerships that meet regional needs. Headstart’s expertise in retail execution, product development, and marketing is unparalleled. We’re excited that their efforts will help us extend the Sesame Street experience to children and their families throughout Australia”, said Gisela Abrams, VP of international media business at Sesame Workshop.
All of this means that you most likely won’t be able to find the toys elsewhere. Maybe, if they become a huge hit, then the companies will expand internationally. But for now, they will be aimed at the region. Although we expect to be able to find them in online stores which could also ship internationally. So, there’s hope that the new range of Sesame Street stuffed animals might make it our way in some form.
