Hallmark and Disney will partner together to make a new line of Itty Bitty plush toys. They will be based mainly on the Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Some of the mini plush figures have already launched on Hallmark Gold Crown stores. They will be an exclusive for these stores until the end of this month. Then in March, the stuffies will slowly make their way to independent stores as well, ToyNews reports.
The new line will popular characters from the entire Star Wars saga, including The Force Awakens. There will be Itty Bitty mini plushies of Rey and Kylo Ren, alongside Yoda, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, C3PO, R2D2 and a Storm Trooper. A special edition Jumbo Darth Vader will be made for the Gold Stores only. It will be a prize for a competition tied with the Star Wars Itty Bitty line which will soon begin.
“Itty Bittys are definitely turning out to be the latest craze in collectables. As soon as they arrived we began to get queries from customers asking when and where they could get their hands on new characters”, says Alison Kildunne, head of brand and marketing for Hallmark.
“The Star Wars range looks set to be just as popular as the first Itty Bittys and we have already seen that because of their great look and reasonable price they can appeal to both adults and children. We have ensured that we have developed a great marketing plan to support this launch and are confident they will create a real buzz”, she adds.
The company is already planning even more Itty Bitty stuffed toys for 2016. The details about them though, remain a secret for now. They will be revealed as the release day of the new toys comes closer to reality. So stay tuned for more!
