The toy store market seems to be booming in Canada. Toys R Us lives on in the country and now it will be joined by FAO Schwarz later this year.
FAO Schwarz is coming to Canada in a new deal with Hudson’s Bay, insauga.com reports. The partnership starts this month, in fact.
It includes the setting up of pop-up store for the famous toy brand. They will be in every Hudson’s Bay store across Canada.
“At Hudson’s Bay we are always looking for ways to offer our customers new, exciting and exclusive opportunities and experiences”, Alison Coville, President, Hudson’s Bay, said in a recent press release. “There is something special and nostalgic about shopping for a perfect toy to bring joy to someone you love. We are thrilled to launch the FAO Schwarz brand in Canada and bring that sense of magic and wonder to our customers”.
The pop-up shop will vary in size from 300 to 1200 square feet. They will feature everything you would expect from FAO Schwarz. This includes big stuffed animals, toy train sets, some will even have the famous dance-on piano and a lot more.
“We are delighted to partner with Hudson’s Bay on this exclusive retail partnership”, David Conn, CEO of ThreeSixty Brands, owners of the FAO Schwarz brand, said in a recent press release. “As Canada’s most iconic and leading department store, they are the perfect partner to help us create cherished memories for generations of children.”
FAO Schwarz has been expanding via pop-up stores a lot. It already has such set-ups at some airports. It seems the brand is finding a nice niche.
