Ed Sheeran celebrates successes by buying toys and teddy bears

People have different ways of celebrating success. For Ed Sheeran this usually means its time to buy a new toy or a teddy bear.

Sheeran was on the Graham Norton Show where he shared more about his passion for toys. He describes himself as a “big kid” and “having a lot of childish stuff in my house”.

So, how did he celebrate the success of his new album Divide? By a big party? Not really. He bought himself a LEGO Death Star model.

Sheeran says this is outlandish enough. “Any good parent will know, if a kid wants a Lego set you buy them the small one, you don’t buy them the big one that’s like £359,” he explained.  “When my album went to number one, I was passing the Lego store and saw the big Death Star, and I thought – ‘Do you know what? It’s time.

Sheeran adds he likes going to toy stores and explore new toys. You’d think that because of his fame going to the toy stores would be a bit of a different experience. Not quite. “I went to go buy my goddaughter a Ninja Turtle toy for her birthday, and I was in the Ninja Turtle section, and there was this huge Ninja Turtle truck. I was looking at the small toy I got for her and looking at the truck, and I was like ‘I’m getting that for me.

“I have a load of childish stuff in my house,” he continued. “There’s a room full of teddy bears.” He then joked by saying: “This is such an embarrassing interview”. Well, it isn’t. We’re happy to know there’s yet another toy and stuffed animals fan out there.
