Thomas isn’t the only train-related toy series out there. Chuggington is also around and it’s preparing for a huge relaunch next year, ToyNews reported.
Herschend Entertainment Studios owns the intellectual property around Chuggington and is going to have a big push for the brand. It added a new vice president to lead the brand which has some huge plans around it.
Chuggington celebrates its 10-th anniversary next year and the company will use that. It’s planning a global relaunch of the brand with a new show for TV. The show will debut in Spring 2020.
That will be just the start. Alpha Group is the master toy partner and will launch a huge wave of Chuggington toys. That will debut in autumn 2020 and it will “bring innovation to train play”. There will be universal track sets and trains and the opportunity to re-enact the adventures of the characters.
But there’s more. A lot more. The brand will also feature new partnership, a new website and even live events and location-based entertainment.
To gain perspective about how popular Chuggington is, its first five seasons aired in 178 countries in 36 languages. It has also clocked over 1.5 billion minutes of watch time on YouTube. So, the relaunch of the brand and characters is going to be quite the event next year.
