Care With a Bear drive brings in over 1000 stuffed animals for charity

Care With a Bear drive brings in over 1000 stuffed animals for charityCharity initiatives are always welcome everywhere. Now there’s the new Care With a Bear that brought in over 1000 stuffed animals for kids in need.

Over the past month, WTHI and Azzip Pizza in Wabash Valley were working together for the Care with a Bear drive. They were asking locals for donations in the form of stuffed animals.

Local people responded in quite the way. In the end the Care With a Bear drive brought in 1100 stuffed animals.

All of them will go to local first responder teams. They will carry the stuffed animals in their vehicles. When they respond to an incident involving children, the teams will give the teddy bears and stuffed animals to the kids.

The WTHI and Azzip Pizza also held the Care With a Bear drive in Terre Haute. There locals donated over 900 stuffed animals. “We want to make sure we take care of our kids. We want to keep them safe and brighten their day in an emergency,” Terre Haute Fire Chief Jeff Fisher said.

Hopefully there are as few reasons to give out these stuffed animals as possible, but it’s still nice to know that they are always there, ready to help out.
