Build-A-Bear launches its first line of scented teddy bears
This teddy bear is part of the Star Wars line of Build A Bear and used for illustration purposes. It’s not part of the scented teddy bear line.

Build-A-Bear Workshop will partner with Celessence Technologies to bring a new line of scented teddy bears to its stores worldwide starting from 2016.

The new line of scented teddy bears is scheduled to be in the stores in time for Valentines Day 2016. The toys would be available in all of Build-A-Bear’s Workshop stores around the world which total at around 400. Joining the partnership is Kittrich Corporation.

The line of scented stuffed animals will initially start with three teddy bears. The red bear will be smelling of strawberry. The brown bear will have a chocolate smell and the blue frosted bear will smell like cupcake. Currently the companies are not showing designs of the bears nor are they telling any details about other toys and how long would the scent last and how it can be replenished.

Naturally, being part of Build-A-Bear, the toys would be fully customizable. You will be able to dress them with costumes, add accessories to them and many more.

“Celessence Technologies opens the door to myriad opportunities for infusing fresh and invigorating scents into consumer goods, from clothing, bedding, plush toys and home furnishings to decorative items, paper goods and apparel, and we are excited to bring new product offerings to market with Build-A-Bear Workshop and Kittrich,” explained GBI’s President of Global Consumer Products Stone Newman.

“Helping kids of all ages create memories is core to the Build-A-Bear brand, and scents have been widely known as one of the strongest senses tied to memory. This new line of scented bears and accessories that incorporate Celessence’s scent technology will give Build A Bear Workshop guests all over the world another fun, memorable way to experience our brand”, says Jennifer Kretchmar, chief product officer of Build-A-Bear.

If you can’t wait until February of next year to get a scented teddy bear, you can make one yourself right now. It is very easy and we have the guide to do it right here.
