Build-A-Bear extends the Pay Your Age promotion to all year only for kids

Build-A-Bear extends the Pay Your Age promotion to all year only for kidsThe Build-A-Bear Pay Your Age day will be remembered with the massive ques all over their stores in the US, UK and Canada. Now there’s a plan B in action.

The promotion was especially crowded in the UK where teddy bears are still very, very popular. Some Build-A-Bear Workshop stores had up to 9 hour long ques!

After chaos and even police getting involved, the stores had to close down. As a result many customers were left empty handed.

Build-A-Bear already apologized for the blunder and announced new Pay Your Age vouchers of $15 along with other initiatives. One of them is a year-long Pay Your Age promotion. Now The Mirror in the UK has some more details about how this will happen.

The year-long Pay Your Age promotion is only for children under 14 years old. They (or most likely their parents) get to pay their age for the Birthday Treat Bear during the month of their birthday. So, if your kid is under 14 years old and for example has a birthday coming up in September, that’s when you can take advantage of the promotion.

Before you do that, you have to sign-up for free for Build-A-Bear’s Bonus Club. You can do that on their website. This will give you access to the $15 vouchers, too along with other discounts and promos.

Speaking about the carnage a spokesman for Build-a-Bear said to CoventryLive: “The response to our Pay Your Age Day event at all of our UK locations has been overwhelming and unprecedented in our 21-year history. The crowds have greatly exceeded our expectations and, per local authorities, queues are at capacity and we cannot accept additional guests due to extreme crowds and safety concerns. We understand our guests are disappointed, and we are working to address the situation. We will reach out directly to our valued guests as soon as possible.”
