Several big toy brands and names joined the new Avengers Universe Unites charity event. They all want to help out kids in need with new Avengers toys.
LEGO, Hasbro, Funko and Amazon have donated over $4 million in Avengers: Endgame toys and products. They all go to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
The Foundation will send the toys to children’s hospitals in the US. And the donation is part of the Avengers Universe Unites charity event. It’ supports The Walt Disney Company’s project Disney Team of Heroes, ToyNews reports.
“The superheroes in Avengers personify traits like courage, perseverance, bravery and hope – the same traits countless kids and their families in children’s hospitals exhibit every day,” said Robert A. Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, who joined the kickoff celebration. “We are grateful to have the Avengers cast take time out of their day to be a part of this effort to lift spirits and bring comfort to children during a difficult time.”
Disney also donated $1 million. This way the project started with a donation of more than $5 million. “Nobody understands magical experiences better than Disney, and we’ve been proud to partner with them in bringing those experiences to kids in children’s hospitals for more than 20 years,” said Adam Garone, CEO, Starlight Children’s Foundation.
It seems like a great project and we hope it will continue down the line, as well.
