Amazon sold millions of toys during its Prime Day

Amazon sold millions of toys during its Prime DayLast week Amazon held it’s annual Prime Day where you could get great deals on pretty much everything. As long as you are a Prime member.

And it was a big day for all merchants. Amazon has sold more than 3.5 millions of toys during the Prime Day, Toy News reported.

Overall, all sales for all items were bigger than Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. This made Prime Day the biggest day ever in the history of Amazon.

“To those customers who tried Prime for the first time and our long time members, thank you for a great Prime Day. Our teams around the world will keep working to add more and more to your membership, so Prime continues to make your life better every day. We are already looking forward to our Prime Day celebration next year”, said Greg Greeley, VP of Amazon Prime.

This reflected well on toys, too. Robots, play sets, LEGO sets, board games were all enjoying big interest. There were also great deals on stuffed animals, plush toys, apparel, accessories. Board games like Twister, Accentuate, Othello and Risk enjoyed big sales. LEGO sets, Anki’s Cozmo robot were among the rest.

STEM toys also had great sales. Summer outdoor toys also took advantage of the timing and scored big. If you missed out on the deals, don’t worry. There’s still Black Friday and Cyber Monday to come. And they just might be even more interesting for toy fans since they will be just before the Christmas shopping spree where all of the top toys for the year will be out.
