The end of a 70-year era. All Toys R Us stores in the United States are closing down today. Time to say goodbye to Geoffrey the Giraffe, too.

Today many people will check out the last remaining opened Toys R Us stores. Their discounts will be quite big – in some cases up to 90%.

Be prepared with both cash and a credit card. Depending on what equipment the store has left, it may accept only one or the other.

Some people already managed to buy Graco strollers for $60 instead for their retail price of $350. Of course, for some the goal is merely to resell them for profit later on.

Toys R Us can’t do that anymore since it’s the final day. After today, there’s no more Toys R Us in the United States.

This photo of Geoffrey the Giraffe saying goodbye also got quite popular.

You can easily see why. It gets you right in the feels as todays Net-lingo says.

Some people also make spins on the iconic jingle “I don’t want to grow up, I’m a Toys R Us kid”. They now say that “it seems a lot of people grew up and there are no more Toys R Us kids left”. There’s a point to it, since if there were enough clients, the store chain would survive.

But it is what it is. Now we cue the KB Toys coming back news along with the “Toys R Us is being revived” rumors.

The former is happening later this year. While the latter is still up in the air. Time will tell, as they say.
