Toys are meant to be fun, but sometimes there are issues. Alex Toys is recalling some 91 000 toy sets which it has sold in the US amid fear of choking risk.
The toy company is focusing on three lines of playsets. They are the Alex Jr Baby Builders, the First Pops and the First snaps.
All of them contain elastic shapes which the US Consumer Product Safety Commission says can be a choking hazard. The parts snap together to make different structures. It’s exactly these detachable parts which are causing the risk, the Commission notes.
The good news is that so far there are no injuries. Although, there are 22 cases of small parts detaching from the sets.
Several big stores are offering the sets. Among them are Barnes and Noble, Land of Nod, Zulily.com and others.
The Baby Builders sets were sold from December 2009 through to June 2016 for around $28. First Pops were sold from March 2009 through June 2016. Finally, the First Snaps were sold from March 2009 through October 2010.
According to CNBC, an additional 5,600 sets were sold in Canada. So, if you have one of these toys from the said time periods, you have to contact Alex Toys.
The company will send you a prepaid shipping envelope for you to return the risk toys. When it receives the toys, the company will issue a full refund to the user.
