When you love something, you love it forever. Margaret “Peggy” Thomas from the UK recently celebrated her 100th birthday with a teddy bear picnic.
Yes, Margaret wanted a simple teddy bear picnic for her birthday, the Welwyn Hatfield Times reported. She lives in Welwyn Garden City with her husband for the past 43 years. Sadly he passed away in 2014.
Margaret was born in Darlington in County Durham on June 7, 1918. “Peggy’s got the best sense of humour and she’s the most selfless, kind, matured lady I have ever met”, says Ashleigh Lloyd, Peggy’s domiciliary carer with Bluebird Care in Hatfield.
Lloyd and her colleagues decorated Peggy’s home with balloons, teddy bears, etc. They even made her a special cake which featured it’s own tiny teddy bear picnic with sugar bears.
As is the tradition in the UK, she also received a special birthday card from the Queen. “I am so pleased to know that you are celebrating your one hundredth birthday on 7th June, 2018. I send my congratulations and best wishes to you on such a special occasion”, says the card which is signed by the Queen.
