A British team of knitters wants to set a world record for the most knitted teddy bears. They want to make more than 15 000 bears with about a month left.
The team is not making the teddy bears just because of the record. They actually have a much more sensible goal.
The knitters are from St Mary’s Church in Baron and they have a special goal. They want to make as many knitted teddy bears as possible in time for Christmas. All the teddy bears will be donated to children all around the world.
The current world record for knitted teddy bears sits at 15 534 bears. Currently the team has about 7500 knitted bears at their Teddy Headquarters. They have until September 17th 2016 to complete their world record attempt.
If you would like to contribute a teddy bear puppet, contact Julia Wilson on 07901 870032 or visit Facebook page Occ Barton on Humber. The team will host a special celebration on September 17th and 18th which will be a teddy bear festival. So, if you are in the area then, be sure to drop by.
